Hi my name is John I'm new to the forum. I live in New York (not the city) I live in suburbs out on Eastern Long Island. I'm an Animal Control Officer and have been a passionate amature photographer for more years than I care to count. Along with photography I love birds (the big guys Macaws, we have six of them) and some little ones also. I enjoy watching sports (huge Jets fan) baseball (Mets fan), music and reading. Glad to be here one can never get too much knowledge about a subject they love.
Welcome John. You will learn lots from this site. Pretty birds.
Love your shot, it is very colorful. Did you use a vignetting process on the corners of your photo? I'm not an expert but a bit more color in the birds body might make a big difference, the colors seem muted by shadow or some other reason. Anyway, your birds are truly a nice pair.
It looks like a vignette to me also, my opinion is that it would be better without it. It would show off the colors more.
Welcome to the forum, John. Nice shot of the birds - and you got them to pose for you!
Greetings from Massapequa NY . Love the photo and love the birds. Welcome to the Forum .
Really colorful birds. Only comment is my eyes were drawn too much to that bunch of (?) between them

Actually I took that picture a couple of years ago, I was considering getting away from film. I bought a little Kodak digital point and shoot camera nothing special. Decided I liked the digital thing and recently bought a Nikon D7000 which I like very much. I decided to hang onto my Nikon FE2 and still like the film thing. I decided that I needed to upgrade to Digital glad I did. I'm enjoying digital and it's fun learning the PS CS5 program.
Thank You all for the warm welcome.
