Tremendous Regis! The colors are so rich and vibrant. Beautiful sky and beautiful detail in the Eagle. Once again you can see the power in the talons. Fine job.

you had posted some great images taken with you canon lens, and now with you tamron.
which do you prefer?

Both. The quality is about the same. The Tamron has the lower price, but it is longer and heavier and more difficult to hand hold my shots, plus it doesn't have the weather resistance that the Canon has.
The Canon 100-400 II can also focus down to 2-3 feet for close-up shots of insects.

Great shots! The weekend of January 16 and 17 is Eagle Days north of St. Louis. May go. I have a Canon 60D and a Sigma 150-600 C lens.

Thank you, Collie lover. I would go. You might get some good Bald Eagle photos and you have a good camera and lens to take with you.

Yesterday I took this Bald Eagle waiting to catch a fish, however the salmon are gone. I used 600mm and they were hand held shots.
The sky was sunny.

Very, very beautiful Regis.

I thank you very much, Sirius one. I'm not the best, so I try harder. I can not compete with the photographers who use a $10,000 to $20,000 prime telephoto lens.

Don't sell yourself short. I have seen photographs in national magazines that were not quite as good as some of yours. :-P :-P

Funny, I did not think eagels could use tammy lenses. no opposable thumbs!!!!! now if you shot a photo of them eating a cheesesteak sandwich from pats or geno's, I would say those are Philadelphia eagles. sorry smart aleck gene kicked in. They are lovely shots of an amazing animal. Don't think inside the box. If there are no galleries perhaps you and other photogs could start one. Or make a deal with local restaurants to display your work and sell them.

Thank you, Sirius one. I don't sell myself short, but I am a realest and I have seen many fine wildlife and landscape photos and I strive always to do better. I am a good painter (see below) and I try to bring some of my painting qualities into each photo of mine (composition, contrast, etc.)

Some day. I have been through many skin cancer surgeries (60+ stitches and staples on my face, head and eye) plus diabetes out of control and I just don't have the energy to get involved in a photo gallery at 72 years old.
Once I get better, hopefully, I will give it some serious thought.
I thank you, sinatraman.
