Woo Hoo I finally got the 7D Mii !! And I freakin LOVE IT!! OMG it is amazing... But I have a couple questions for anyone that has it..
1. Can you buy a hard copy of Canons 7D Mii AF Setting Guidebook? If not - what hard copy book are you all liking ?

2. After some practice I'm feeling pretty good about all the focus groups, cases etc.. But I can't figure out: On the 5th page on the camera menu, what is the AF Method? I can't find an explanation for this any where!! What is the different between :) +Tracking, Flexizone AF (), & Flexizone AF[]

THANKS for your time everyone !!!

First, with regard to the AF Settings Guidebook, there is no hard copy available. If you want a hard copy you will have to do as I did and print it out yourself. I printed it doubled sided which required 31 pages for this 61 page document.

Second. if the manual you are referring to is the one that came with the camera, its the basic and not the full version. The full 500 page (yes, I said 500 page!) version can be found here.

These are the three focus mode options in Live View only, not through the view finder. The first is face + tracking which will attempt to focus on faces and if no face found the closest object using multiple focus points. The second is Flex-Zone Multi which is similar but only focuses on the closest subject using multiple focus points, the third is Flex-Zone single which I use mostly If I'm in Live View, and allows you to focus wherever you want using essentially a single point. It also allow you to zoom in to focus which is great for manual focusing. You can PM me if you have additional questions.

Hi Rotmmi,
I had your same concern about wanting something to read. I found "Canon EOS 7D Mark II by Jeff Revell to be great. I have read it a couple of times and keep it with me when I go away for if there is any question I can find an answer and he is very easy to understand with good illustrations and pictures. It is well worth the money and can be bought through Amazon. I highly recommend it. Your question would be easily explained and many, many more that I had.

Get a copy of "Canon 7D Mark II Experience" by Douglas J. Klostermann. Everything will be explained clearly, although it is an E-book.

You can send off for a copy of the original Canon manual at "manualsink.com" for about $30.00. Jeff Revels book, is also a good choice. It seems the Canon 7D Mark II, has not been given much coverage by the publishing companies who print manuals. Wiley, who publishes the "Dummies" books has a manual, but it's rather aimed at the beginner.

I find the videos on you tube to be worth watching especially those with Canon backing.

I don't do well with E-books -- I like to make notes, highlight, bookmark. That is why I was hoping I could get a hard copy to Canon's AF setting guidebook.
But THANKS - maybe he will come out with a hard copy soon.
