Question on an SD card

I recently purchased a Lexar Professional, SDHC class 10,
U3 150mb/s 1000x
I've got over 400 pictures on it, with my Panasonic FZ70, and when I went o shoot the other day it told me to re-insert the card, then it said it needed to be formatted. I plugged it into the computer, and its saying it needs to be formatted also. However if I plug it into an external card reader it reads fine, I was able to transfer all of my pictures. The card will not work any longer in my Panasonic, the Canon SX50 HS shows a memory card error, but the Sony HX300 shoots fine with it. Do I dare continue to use it in the Sony?
When the Panasonic says it needs to be formatted, it will not perform the function, and to try and format it in the computer, it says windows is unable to format.

Something is clearly wrong with the card. I wouldn't risk using it.

For one thing, I never switch cameras for any SD card. Format in one camera. Stays with that camera. Maybe that's your problem here.

Contact Lexar. They may replace it under warranty.

They may recommend that you first try their recovery program. A link and serial #/ password was in the package.

I would not use the card as is, unless you want to risk losing your next 400 pictures.

I didn't try another camera until I started having problems with the card, I started trying other options when I went on Amazon and found out it was too late to return.

Yeah that was kinda my thought too, but I've heard second opinions are a good thing. I'm probably just out the $27.

Why?

"Warranty and support. All Lexar Professional line memory cards come with a limited lifetime warranty and are backed by expert technical support."

Interesting I have the same card which has been working fine in my D810 until the other day when I got an error reading when I inserted the card I remove the card and reinserted it and it worked fine. Then got a card error message, removed and re-inserted the card worked fine Got all my images downloaded but will contact Lexar re a replacement

So did you reformat and try it?

Hopefully you have a genuine Lexar card, but there are millions of counterfeit Lexar cards on the market. I have a few on display in my store and they LOOK good, but the serial numbers prove they are all fakes.

This is my procedure for the past 5 years.
Use Card reader.
When finished DL reformat in card reader.
Check to see that file is empty.
Place card in camera and do a format again.

trash it and start with a new card, frustrating to be in the field and have your card crash, always have a few backup cards with you. all things electronic crash eventually
