Would appreciate feedback on either or both of these f4.0 DX's.
I've had the 12-24mm for some time. Like it for landscape work. Used it a lot for sunrise photos with very pleasing results. djt

That's the one I'm considering. Thanks for responding.

I own the Tokina 12-28mm f/4 and use it on a Nikon D5100. I had problems initially because it wouldn't 'communicate' properly with my camera; but, after having factory authorized repair done under warranty, the lens has worked beautifully. If you want to see any images for assessment, let me know.
I can't speak for the 12 24 Tokina but the 12 28 Tokina works great on every crop body Nikon I've ever put it on !!
I have the 12-24 F4. It is a great wide angle lens on my crop sensor Canon. I don't use it as much as I used to because I now have a 15-85 lens, too, You might want to choose between the 12-24 or 12-28 depending on what other lenses you have.

I have the Tokina 12-24MM F4 lens which I purchased years ago for my Nikon D300. Excellent build and optical quality. Very reasonable, pricewise as there are plenty of copies around on eBay but look for the second version which allows AF with Nikon's junior DSLRs, D3XXX and D5XXX. As a dividend the lens is very usable with FX cameras at approximately 16.5MM and longer! However, the 12-28MM has a broader range, is a newer lens and from reviews, also excellent but has a bit of CA as does the older lens. Best wishes all and Happy New Year!

I have the 12-24 and love it. I took a shot of a glacier in Alaska with it on a D90 and you can see the ripples perfectly in a 12 by 18 print. Very sharp.
I also have and used the 12-24 f4; had the Sigma 12-24 f4 to compare and found the Tokina to be much sharper. I did not compare to the 12-28 though.
Btw, I would be selling mine very soon if your interested as I'm building up my Fuji gear.
Whats your budget. What camera you considering it for? Both Tokinas are good lenses.
