My struggle with white birds continues. I believe I am improving on exposure but it an ongoing process. Here are the white birds from the last river excursion in the boat.

#1 and your ibis look super-duper to me, Carol! I forget if you said you shoot in raw?

Great pictures Carol. I guess, just like snow, you would want to add exposure to make the whites, white.
Happy New Year.

Try Spot Metering Mode. You will get more detail and control of the feathers' definition.

I was just going to say the first and the Ibis look great. White birds are difficult, but it looks like you're well on your way to mastering them. I'm envious.

Sorry Linda. My sister came in just as I was starting to reply and my brain disconnected!

I think part of my problem is in PP. I always feel like they need to be bright white but that is when I lose the detail. I agree no 1 is probably the best of these on exposure.

Thanks for the nice comment. My biggest challenge seem to be not blowing out the whites. I have gotten better at it but each situation seem to be a little different.

Thanks Angela. Sometimes I feel like white birds are the only ones out there. This time a year they are everywhere!
