I think there is a help phone number on the Nikon site, they will direct you to the nearest repair center and give you the shipping instructions. I hope you don't suffer from separation anxiety too much without your camera.
Your welcome, skate. I know how much I would miss my d7100.
Skate.... In regards to the flash popping up automatically, you've stated that it is on Auto mode and you're expecting it to function automatically. My question is, and it may be foolish, are you in a lighting situation where the flash should pop up? There are times that I want more light (or fill light) and the camera on Auto mode senses there is enough light for the photo. I then have to go to Program Mode and manually pop the flash up and make the necessary adjustments for the photo.
Just trying to cover all the bases...... Good luck
Thanks Brad F, you are right when there is enough ambient light the flash will not activate but when the flash is required, I can hear and feel the latch release - but the flash will not pop up - without my help.
I just rolled over and sent my camera to the Nikon repair facility in CA, today, hopefully they can fix it.
Thanks again for your help, Brad F
