Rare Color Photos Reveal The Beauty Of Germany Before It Was Destroyed By World Wars
It was a different world. What a difference six years can make.
That disappointed me in that the photos did not show how the "other half's" housing/life looked. Just the remnants of the aristocracy of an even earlier age in Germany.
Actually, every single place shown is still in existence and in great shape. None of these have been destroyed. I've been to many of them.
Most of those sites had been spared'. Not s my mothers house
the january / feb issue of the smithsonian has a article about burried ww2 bombs in germany .thousands of them that did not explode and may at any time , most are 1000 pounds .could be under your house .they are looking for them .defusing them is a dangerous hobby .at least you wont need a funeral , you will be vaporized .
T wasn't until I took a tour of Neuschwanstein that realized what a marvelous monument to restrained good taste was the Hearst Castle in San Simeon. ;-)
Oh yes, Germany is and was a beautiful country before that SOB decided to ruin everything.
Most of what's shown in the examples still exist's and looks just like it did back then!
