try your camera manual. its made specifically for the settings on your particular camera. if you want to learn the basics of photography such as what's an f stop, what is iso etc, any basic introduction to photography book will do. if you have specific questions post em here and we will try to help.

The camera I shoot with is one I found in a trash can at work. (I am a custodian.) It is a Panasonic DMC_LZ2 iumix 5.0 meg. It has no manual. I am very good with and understand film cameras and shooting with 4x5 and 8x10 cameras. I want to understand the digital gagits on the camera.

if you google camera manuals, there are websites you can go to download old camera manuals. some sites are even free. you are lucky to find an operational camera in a trash bin.

Catman,

Go to the Panasonic digital camera website and download the camera manual. That will help a lot.

Blue Crane Digital sells a streaming video or CD for around $25 that takes your camera and shows all the settings what they do and lets you pause shoot and come back to do an interactive lesson of sorts. My shooting improved right away and its nice that they show you on your camera. I took a course at the local college before and though it helped his camera was so different from mine I wasted a lot of time looking for settings that I did not have in the cheap camera that I had at the time. The $25 was the best bang for the buck on anything I have purchased and best of all its sitting on my computer waiting to give me a refresher course whenever needed.

If you just google camera settings you can fine tune what the info is that you are looking for. Put it in question form. You can also "Ask Jeeves" or go to ITunes U in the Itunes store for free classes from different colleges on almost any subject. I have gotten quite a bit of instruction from iTunes.

Usually, if you Google the camera & model number, you'll find a lot of resources. Generally they are in .PDF format which you can download and refer to anytime since it's on your computer already.
