Every year, a college in Michigan releases a list of words to be banished. I agree completely with their current list.

Well, I would like to "join the conversation"... (well, in this case, literally, so maybe it's not so bad...)

"Vape" is both a noun and a verb. A "vape" is short for a vaporizer. Not your grandmother's vaporizer, but specifically a device for heating marijuana to a high enough temperature to vaporize the THC and CBD but not hot enough to start it burning. It is a little less irritating to the lungs than smoking. The word is used as a verb and refers to the act of using this vaporizer. Because a "vape" should be distinguished from a traditional vaporizer, I might argue that it is a useful word.

By the way - I personally neither "vape" nor smoke marijuana, but I advise patients about the use of medical marijuana.

Below is a photo of a "vape" made by the Pax company. The photo is in black and white because I used it in a book for my patients (available through Amazon, if anyone is interested! http://www.amazon.com/Medical-Marijuana-guidebook-Stephen-Blythe-ebook/dp/B00XF8KA36/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451737622&sr=8-1&keywords=medical+marijuana+blythe )

I am way behind the times I guess. The only two words from the list that I recognize as having heard are physicality and problematic.

I'll add "awesome," "amazing," vocal fry, and uptalk to that list.

I agree with the list Jerry, particularly #1 "So". I am absolutely sick and tired of hearing jerks including some national politicians, start every reply with "so". "So" why do I mention this? Simple. It is boring, redundant and meaningless. End this nonesense.

I would say that "price point" has a specific definition in marketing. Manufacturers (Nikon and Canon excepted evidently) release an item to retailers with a series of price points that have differing retail margins. So KOHL'S, for instance puts the item out for sale at price point A which would give them a 40 percent margin--this becomes the "regular" price. Now for roughly 26 weeks a year, it will be "on sale" at price point D which may give a 10-15 'percent margin.

Also, some retailers may experiment with their own price points on items to maximize profit--this is a corollary to the law of diminishing returns which used to be discussed in Econ 101 right after the fish and breadfruit--now I think they cut to monetary policy and Marx. This way they decide at which price they sell the most and then set the "new, lower price."

Perhaps you are correct however most of us are capable of choosing non repetitive lead ins to respond to a question or issue. If that troubles you, go ahead and stick with ergo. Comic strips use it a lot. "Snoppy could not find his bowl, ergo he ate Tabby, the cat!"
