......... going "with" the fur is accepted practice, but I just watched my 2 year old granddaughter pet the cat from tail to head and get away with it. She laid her head down on the cat's back to hear it purring, then gave it a kiss.

Nice shot! Most cats will allow their kittens to get away with more nonsense that normally tolerated.... I guess that also applies to their 'Human kittens'.

Lovely picture Bob, and equally enchanting tale,

Judging from my cat, they are bipolar to the extreme but also very, very smart and cunning. I have no doubt that your cat was very aware that it was being pet by a child - do a test and try that maneuver yourself! :)

The black and white is refreshingly good.

Sweet cat and nice story. Your processing has made this shot quite special. Beautiful download.

Nice job of processing, and glad the young lady emerged unscathed from her labors, lol. Kitties have definite ideas on what can be tolerated from human hands, lol.

Beautiful capture Bob, and it probably made you very nervous!

Animals let kids get by with things that we adults could never do. My grandson carries my cat upside down with all 4 paws sticking out but no one else can get by with this.

Thank you firtree. You sound like someone who has been around a cat or two.

Thanks Geoff. I don't go on like Treepusher, but I've lived around cats most of my life.

Thanks Bob. Yep, I learned my lessons long ago ..... pet the kittens while you can. Some of them, when they grow up, don't want to be held. Sorta like my daughter.
