I was lucky to get these shots from my back door. Downloading is a good idea to bring out his colors.
Beautiful shot and beautiful bird, Earl. His colors go real well with your clothesline too. lol I noticed this one's bill is jagged. Is it broken, or is that a natural feature?

I would guess that he's had a little 'altercation' at some time. :D
Thanks, Earl. I hope it grows back to normal.

Neat! And nicely captured. Are they common there, or was this a treat? We have one at our local little zoo - I love to hear his cry/laugh. Very distinctive!

DOOK, these are beautiful pictures of the bird. Good detail and colors. Thanks for sharing. Tejaswrangler :)
Just another example of those foolish Australian Animals. Kangaroos that make fun of how Dinosaurs would stand on hind legs with little arms. Duck Billed Platypus that are really confused, a mammal that lays eggs and lives in the water... hard to believe. Now you have the audacity to show us a bird that is beautiful except for a duck like over bite that really messes up it's face.
Beyond the bill, this bird has a "duck cut" like I had in college in the 50's... flat on top.
Dook, this bird is an example showing that if isolated in the land down under that birds will go daffy!! Sorry could not resist that play on old cartoon friend "Daffy Duck."
Really beautiful bird shots, great detail, vivid colors. Thank you for sharing with us. I certainly enjoyed my two visits to the land of OZ, I treasure the memories.

Fantastic set Earl --and then downloads! wow!
I love the colors on this strange little bird. It looks like he could be made into a cartoon character. Wonderful detail Earl and a happy and healthy New Year to you!
