our war on drugs has created the above skewed situation... most of these prisoners would be free and contributing members of society... that is unless you believe we are that much more criminally motivated than the other countries shown.

The main reason for that is because the other countries put them in once, never to be seen on the outside. Whereas the US lets them out soon after being incarcerated just to be put back in again, and again, and again
