In My Humble Opinion- This photo is lacking good contrast/hi tonal range that you would get out of an HDR image. Take look at some my HDR photos on my website.
http://www.dubinphotography.net/Travel/Ft-Lauderdale/Ft-Lauderdale-Downtown-Nov-25/14837884_gvvQGx#1106939338_bG9rwI used a Nikon D300S, 18-200mm lens, a tripod and a shutter release cable, and made up 7 exposures at one stop apart for my HDR images. I use Photomatix Pro and Photoshop CS4 to further enhance these photos.
Before I can help you I need the below info.
1. How many exposures did you take?
2. How far apart were the exposure stops?
3. What type of camera did you use and other equipment did you use to take this photo?
4. What did the original photo look like with your camera's normal exposure as compared to your HDR photo.
5. Did you do any post enhancements after Photomatix?
Once you provide this info, I believe I can help you. Arnold

Photomatix images still need editing after tone mapping. I will use curves in cs5 or nx2 and maybe tweak the noise reduction and whatever needs to be enhanced.
Just don't eliminate the detail brought out in photomatix
Arnold,
I use a Nikon D-300 with the new 18-200 Nikkor lens. I use aperture priority. I only can get 3 shots at, I think, 1/3 stops. Can not figure out how to get more shots at different spacing. I do have Photoshop Elements 8 for additional editing. I'll have to go back and get the original photo for you to see. Barry
a lot of times I will take a single image in raw and with nx2 change the exposure +/- 1.5 and save those images to file them send to photomatix for tonemapping. Works great on images that have a lot of movement that prevents bracketing. d300 will bracket up to 1 stop 9 times. you have to program the bracketing in menu to enable the function button on the bottom right of the camera face next to the lense
Do not have nx2 but can I work with Elements?

Barry, Take a look at these 2 videos from YouTube and it should help set-up your camera for Bracketing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0Oa2zyYaJkhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwdedzswvSIYou don't have to use the Interval Timer set-up if you use a shutter release to keep the camera vibration down. Again this how I use my camera to take the Bracketed Photos. If you have any more questions let me know. Arnold
