Humbolt Redwoods State Park-Hwy 101 Northern, CA-Road Trip 2015

This is a beautiful state park with a small two lane road runs thru it. The name of the road is Avenue of the Giants.
The sun filtering thru the trees and the dark shadows was too much for my camera to show as it appeared to my eyes.
Many of these images were exposed for the bright areas with checking the histogram for not clipping the blacks on the left.
This is the first time I have tried to lighten up the extreme dark area in an image.
Im not pleased with the results. Its the best I could get with my limited skills.
I might have achieved better results if I had captured raw files. Maybe, I'll work on that.
If you are traveling thru the area, I hope you'll spend a couple of days checking out the area.

Thanks Pat for sharing your pictures of the Giant Redwoods. I have been to Sequoia National Park a few times and without a super wide angle lens its hard to capture those giants in all their glory. I never been to Humbolt Redwood State Park, But I am gonna look it up on my map and make the trip.. Thanks I enjoyed your pictures...

There were many parts of the two lane road that got dark enough that my headlights turned on. The Sun was shining as well.

The composition of #5 is so appealing! I visited decades ago, can still remember the awe I felt. You captured them beautifully.

Very nice. I was particularly attracted to #5 with the path going through the trees. I'd love to walk that path.
