Need some advice, please
I've had this flash for many years and have never seen this setting before. I was using the flash on TTL a few days ago and suddenly I look down and it's on this setting (see photo). I don't know what I did, what it means, and how I remove it.
Thanks

Try reseting the flash itself, press and hold the "Mode" and "on/off" buttons together for 2 seconds approx...this should reset the whole flash.

I can't answer your particular problem, do know that you can "re-set" it by pressing a combination of buttons.

I can tell you how to get the manual handy though. Go to nikon and download the app for your phone.. you download the particular product manuals just for the nikon products you own... it is searchable. Nikon flash's are computers in their own right.. sometimes you need a refresher on how to get to something.

I find the app a real time saver, as you can also save or bookmark certain things you may do once in awhile and forget exactly how to do them. And, for an added benefit, no matter where you are, you can access the ENTIRE manual(s) for something else you may want to do!

And they are free! :) Hope it helps!

I'm glad that you reset. What the display means is that your flash is set to "Master" mode to control groups a,b, and c. Those groups were all set in "repeater" mode which means that they would fire multiple bursts depending on other settings. They would give the effect of multiple exposure within one shot by illuminating a moving object in pulse. Imagine a bright tennis ball bouncing in a pitch dark room. If you shot in this mode the ball would be exposed each time the flashes pulsed so there would be multiple "balls" in the frame. Hope that helps.
