I was mulling over the idea on a 4K monitor but never quite made up my mind.

Several days ago while working on my spare computer the Samsung 24" monitor suddenly died. I haven't had good luck with this brand. It knocked me off the fence and I ordered a 27" 4K Dell.

I have a 24" Dell Ultrasharp on my image processing computer which will be moved to the spare.

It arrives tomorrow. Sometimes things just work out.

Not using a 4K monitor for my photo work, at least not yet, no real need. BUT, my laptop does have a 4K monitor and I do love the colors. The only problem comes when I try to calibrate it to my printers, the colors from the best printers have trouble living up to the colors presented by the 4K backlit LED monitor. Great for video though.

Thanks MT for the input. I don't print that much and I can always print from the other computer.

That sounds exciting. It can definitely be nice when things break. We had two plasma TV's dies within a short time of each other and got LED replacements that use very little electricity.

My Dell monitor is so old, I have no idea when I got it. I'll have to check the date in back.

A potential problem with 4K monitors is that type and icons will appear very small unless you have a system to upscale them. I was looking at a friend's 4k the other day and when using Lightroom, the type was so small it was a struggle to read it!

You can upscale windows, not sure about all programs.

I'll find out today.

I got it set up. It's small but I can still see it.

I have the option to lower the res and it will still be higher that the Ultrasharp is.
