Please let me know your opinions of this photo. I used a Nikon D3S the flame background was added in photoshop.

personally, i think if you change the hue of the girl to match the bkgnd, it would look more natural. frank bruce

I'm not really crazy about the dark shadows in the lower left quadrant. Her left leg is completely chopped off.

Hi,
I think you did a great job on this. Attractive portrait and a unique background by adding the flames.
I guess the real test is, did the subject like it? I would think the answer was yes.

She has not seen it yet, just did the photo session last night. But from what I got from her last night, I think she will really like it.

Jim, her left leg is bent under the right one. She has thigh high black boots on.

I see that now - it looks like you lightened up a bit or bumped the contrast. Better.

I think her lower left leg is simply tucked under her--she's sort of sitting on it.

In my humble opinion, she's sitting too close to the fire. It seems a bit unrealistic she could actually pose sitting that close to that hot of a fire... if she really were posing in front of the fire... which she actually isn't, in reality... but you get my point?

I understand your point about the proximety of the fire, but I was really just going for the effect the the reality. I wanted something that would catch your eye like BAM!!

Sorry don't care for the flamed background, kind'of a lifeless style photograph (meaning she'd rather burn in the underworld then to live life on Earth and Heavens above).

on the second set, I think the first is adorable, very nicely propped. On the 3rd the bar or whatever it is, it's very distracting. Not to mention she's formally dressed and in a very wrong place. The pose is off as well.

Sorry I couldn't say anything better, but, I'm just being honest.
The subject is beautiful, the backgrounds on two are just completely wrong.

But in the end, if the subject likes them, so be it. I wouldn't even attempt something like this and most likely would be embarrassed to show the to the subject.

I will say the black on black is good love the pose but the subject, blends and does not stand out very well. It is the best of the 3.

Have a nice day! Happy shooting!

I think the hardest part of protrait work is getting the image of the person to look like what they "think" they look like. Sometimes that is miles apart.
