Calling All A6000 Flash Users

I am looking for a 'decent, basic, reasonably powered' Flash Unit for my A6000. I do not plan to do weddings, large group indoor shots, or light up a concert at the Madison Square Graden in NY. I do plan to use it in a few situations like: fill-in flash outdoors, short distance indoor family photos, creating the twinkle of light in my grandchildren's eyes, etc. I guess my 'only' conditions are that it a) syncs easily with the A6000, b) uses recharge batteries and c) has some tilt capability. I am not sure if I will need to fire off-camera/off-shoe as a remote flash.

Appreciate member experiences. Our club leader suggests the Sony Flash Hflv20m

You really need to Google and check out all of the reputable retailers that sell online; even Walmart. There are all sorts of reasonably priced units out there that will suit your needs. Also, there is an adapter shoe you can buy for under $20.00 that will allow other brands of flashes such as the older Minolta flash units.

What is your budget??? Phottix makes one specifically for the A6000. Not addition adapter required.. Ck B&H for price..

It seems to me as an A6000 user that the built-in flash covers your modest needs - fill-in, vertical bounce, etc. so why complicate your life with a separate unit. Sony's hot shoe is not universal so some in-store research is probably advisable.

I understand the a6000 went to a universal hot shoe (vs, the Sony one on my NEX7).

Thank you all ... I appreciate the input.
Universal hot shoe allows me flexibility.

Check out the Yungnuo 560III along with its radio controller. i bought it two years ago and it has performed flawlessly. This is not TTL but manual works fine.
the local no middle man fees store called StrobePro as in StrobePro.com is worth checking out especially if you are buying with American dollars at. this Canadian store. Today $0.74 U.S. = $1.00 Cdn.
They are flexible and use 4 rechargeable AA batteries.

There was a well documented problem (see DPReview) with black A6000s. It seems the black paint got on the flash contacts and prevented proper contact. Many users did the inelegant solution of scraping off the paint. This may well have been solved but it was a real problem early in 2015 and not my imagination.

Yes, I can vouch for that being true. That being said, guess who alerted me to the problem and helped me solve it before I knew it was a problem?
Yes, the proprietor of StrobePro
