I understand what you're saying here. I used to have a D90, and the D7200 is set up similarly for the controls, so it's something that seems pretty familiar. But I also had an A6000, and as much as I'd love to have the D7200, for all the reasons you lay out, the A6000 keeps calling me pretty strongly. Too bad I won't be able to have both.

You need to be fairly careful with the battery compartment door. It's not very sturdy. I found that to get the SD card out of its slot, I would push down on it, then quickly pull my finger away and allow it to "pop" out. Had to be careful to catch it with my other hand, as it can fly quite a ways! As for charging the battery, it's a drag having to charge it in-camera, but you can get an external charge from Amazon, and it's not expensive.
