Just got my D7100 taken care of & since then i received a new D750.
The exposure metering on this unit is junk. It has gross under exposed images.
I have gone into the B6 exposure fine tuning & in matrix it requires at least or more than +1 EV setting, center metering needs +5/6 to even get close. Spot metering requires "0" & still is erratic.
Of course Nikon wants images of every underexposed photos.
I purchased it from Adorama less that two weeks ago.
Need advice on whether to comply with Nikon or contact Adorama & get another D750.
I sent zip images, but Nikon wants individual images.
I am fu-king sick of wasting my time on this abortion i purchased.
Advice?? Bill

It might help if you posted a few underexposed images and click (store original). :)

I went through this same experience a few years ago when I bought the D3 the day it came out. Mine was too hot when using a flash (overexposed skin) and I had to send raw files to Nikon. They told me that it was within specs and that the gamma had been adjusted in the algorithm so it was supposed to look like that. However, I had a buddy whose D3 gave perfect flash exposures, so after I stood my ground and was persistent, Nikon agreed to refund my money and I carried it back to the store I bought it from for a full refund. I bought a D700. So I suggest you play their game unless the camera store will swap it out for you. If you remain persistent they will replace it or service it for adjustments. You are dealing with hard heads though. By the way, my new D750 sometimes requires a 1 stop adjustment in LR, but it's ok with me, since I prefer to be ½ stop underexposed anyway (from my old slide-shooting days)
What is Adorama's return policy?

Ask for a RA number. reason: DOA.
If they say they will repair/adjust it you will never be happy. You will be constantly looking at every shot to see if you can see any fault. Return it.
If you haven't, you might try the two button reset to default settings. Shoot a couple in auto and see what happens. If it doesn't work then send it back. Can't believe Adorama / Nikon won't stand behind the product.
Send it back. I too have had problems with Nikon repair claiming things are "within spec" when they clearly weren't. Send it back, get another one, and avoid the games.

From the paucity of information provided, it's impossible to even guess at what you're doing wrong.
Are you shooting in RAW with ADL turned on? If so, turn off ADL immediately, it underexposes by 1/3 to 2/3 stops, which is great in the processed jpg. and the histogram on the camera, however the processing isn't carried over to the NEF file when using Lightroom or any other PP other than Nikon software. Every shot will be underexposed. I, too, have the D750 and had the same problem at first. There is nothing wrong with the camera. Here is a link to an explanation in more detail.

Sounds like Lightroom does not understand ADL. My solution was to uninstall Lightroom.

Save yourself a few headaches and send the camera back! I'm sure Adorama could deal with Nikon on a higher level than the average guy...

Thanks guys, since i had the D750 less than a month Adorama will accept the exchange.
Great company to deal with.
Lets hope the new D750 does not have the same issues, Bill
