Here's pictures of my daughter and her friends for her Jr. prom.

Tell me what you think, and any suggestion on what I could have done to make them better.

Cheers,
Rach

thanks, yeah I wish it had not rained all day, I would have taken the pictures in my back yard which is a much better back drop.

I also agree about #2.

Your daughter is absolutely lovely!
#1 especially is a wonderful portrait!

I wasn't particularly in love with the background on pics 2 and 3. The black shutter on pic 2 and the tree on pic 3 I found distracting.
A simple background with less defined objects visible would be more pleasing in my view.
Houselight growing out of the guys' head on the left in pic 4 should have been avoided and that pic in general should have had a shallower DOF I believe.

Thank you. I agree the back drop is aweful. It rained all day and I did not have the heart to tell the kids to go stand in the grass in my back yard where I would have just had greenry as a back drop.

I think I need to take the plunge and get a set up in my garage with lighting, umbrellas and a screen.

With that in mine I may try and change the background or at least soften it more. Thanks again.

Haha, your so right on the last statement. That's why I ask y'all to look at them. I over looked the light out of the head.

Props to their sense of style - they are very elegant looking & very tasteful. You should see some of the gaudy scraps of cloth they where out here in California. NIce photos of some good looking kids.

You already know I think your daughter is drop dead gorgeous. I think the lighting is a little flat, but if it was over cast and grey skies there really isn't much you can.

Everyone else has mentioned the backgrounds so I'll skip that. :)

Thank you, they all go to private Catholic schools, so the dress codes are very strick.

Okay, I may dust off my PS5 book by Kelby and try and pop them into a different background. I'll also work on the lighting on the second and last one.

You don't have to try to pop them into a different background - mask them off them us Lens Blur Filter on the background. That will highlight your subject quite well particularly in 2 & 3. #4 not much you can do with that background but I love #1.

Like the idea, I'll give it a try, Thanks.

Seems like #1 is the favorite.
