This is a link for an adapter to convert your cf card to an sd card. http://www.amazon.com/Flashpoint-Secure-Digital-CompactFlash-Adapter/dp/B0029Q9I1U/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1335455930&sr=8-12

Hi:

Sorry but you don't convert a CF card to an SD/SDHC, you convert the SD/SDHC to a CF card, big difference.

I went to the site and ordered a second converter card for my CANON 5D MK II, exactly the same as my current converter which I paid at least quadruple as much for back in December. It's the Extreme CF Adapter at $8 and change plus about $5 s/h, a real bargain. Works perfectly with all my SD cards (also micro in it's adapter) and my card reader.

Thank you for letting people know there is such a device which is cheap and really does work.

Sorry, but I think when you click on the link it is very simple to understand what they are selling. Why are there so many rude people on this site?

I don't think JayJay was being rude. He was pointing out that when you click on your link it shows (and says) SD to CF adapter, opposite of what your post title says. Yours implies you can take a compact flash and adapt it to an SD card....which is physically impossible.

Any significant write latency when using this device? On my Nikon D300s, I've set the CF slot to be the backup so images are written to both the SD and CF cards. Thanks.

You can also type in CF to SD Card Adapter in Google Shopping to get other results if you like

But now the real question - Which are better CF or SD Cards and why?

Be careful here. I use these and they work as advertised with the following exception. The thickness of the adapter complies with either class I or II cards, I can't remember which, but these adapters will not fit in the CF slot on a Nikon D700. Works great with a D300 however. I suspect there are other cameras that will have issues.

Yes. The adapter is a CF card where the SD card fits inside. The better question is: are CF or SF cards better?

Be Careful. I used a SD to CF adapter on my Canon 5D MK II and damaged the pins inside the camera, which cost a few bucks to get repaired. I have a feeling that the adapter that I have is just "slightly" off spec from an actual CF card as far as pin alignment and it bent one of the pins inside the camera.

Doesn't a CF to SD Card adapter cause the same risk of use as a CF Card?

I don't think so. The adapter card I have is slightly thicker than a CF card. And BTW it does not fit in the 5D Mk III. But the MK III has two card slots, one CF and one SD so there is no need for an adapter. Since damaging my MK II, I have stopped using it.

My 7D manual says I can use both the thick and thin CF cards. Either way the adapter fits in the camera as if it were a true CF card. At times the camera ignores it, but mostly it works fine.
