Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on tethering a Canon dslr to an iPad. Software/hardware you have experience with.

I've been using the CamRanger. Wireless. Connection good over about 100 feet. Can control all camera settings from the iPad or iPhone once connected. Allows you to program for HDR bracketing, focus staking, and time lapse sequences. A bit pricey, but very versatile, and does all functions well.

You might try this: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/control-a-dslr-camera-with-your-android-phone-or-tablet/

Another option is Promote Control, although I don't believe it is wireless.

Thanks for the information. From reading it seems like the Cam Ranger will be a good choice. BY THE WAY I looked at your website, very nice photos. Thanks again.

I've liked mine. Hope you are satisfied with it if you go that route.

Thank you for the compliment; it is much appreciated. I do need to do some work on the website though. I have a number of new images to add.

BTW, although I moved to California in the early 60's I am originally from Wanaque, NJ (Passaic County).

My wife is always looking for Christmas gifts for the guy that has everything, so I thought I would suggest this might be something Santa could shop for. You are lucky to escape NJ, hoping to do that myself in the near future, Sixty years here and I cannot afford to live here if I stop working. I strive to get quality photos like you have. It is a work in progress for me.

I can tether my t3i to my laptop using the Canon software that came with another Canon that I owned. iPad I don't know since I'm not an apple user. If your iPad can load software of this size it should work for you. You'll need a
USB cable to make it work.
