This just shows you no matter how experienced you are, luck plays a major role in great shooting.

Wow! He's got more patience then I do! After the first 100,000 shots I probably would have shot the bird instead, stuffed it and then posed it!:)

Shooting in burst mode obviously increases your chances.

The photo in and of itself is a great photo but I wonder about his mathematics ability. If he shot 720,000 pictures over 4,200 hours in 6 years, that's about one shot every 1/3 second. So either he's lying, exaggerating, found a very cooperative (and probably very tired) bird, found a flock of very cooperative birds, or is using burst mode hoping for a good shot. If he's doing the latter, he'd never survive here at UHH where the purists don't seem to like those who take lots of shots and hope to get a good one..................LOL
