Harmony Remote, Anyone?

Do any of you use a Harmony remote? I tried one a few years ago, and gave up on it. Now I use the remote from either the TV or the TiVo. Paying $350 for a remote control doesn't fit into my financial plan.

Used a Harmony remote for years, and I don't know how I got along without it. Especially if you have several components in your entertainment system. Very easy to setup by connecting to a PC. You may not need the flagship. The little 650 will do fine for most. You can still find those for around $50.

I bought a Harmony 650 from Sam's Club for about $65. It controls tv, surround sound receiver, direct tv with recorder and two different DVD players. I love it.

Mine would control some devices, but not all, so I still had to use more than one remote.

There are some devices not in the catalog. For those devices, you can manually teach the remote the key buttons. It's kind of tedious, but once you do this, it will control everything. I have only had to do this on a couple of components, but never have found one it could not control.
