I love to shoot photos, but my equipment is pretty basic. A Canon PowerShot SX30 IS. Being an artist, I'm pretty good at composing a shot. However, I mostly end up setting my camera to "Auto", because I just can't recall all the details for working manually. I hope to get some help from this forum. Attached is one of my favorite shots, "just another day at the office".
A couple of months ago, I discovered that my camera also does video. Imagine my surprise... :) So I gave this new feature a try and was impressed by the picture quality. I've created a music video with one of my own tunes, then another and another... and now I have 50+ videos on YouTube. Look up channel flwolf2000.
good picture, nice music! Welcome to the forum. Stick around long enough, and we'll get you off the "auto switch" :)
never worry about you equipment... just remember its 6 inches behind the lens that counts... you have a lovely image....
keep smiling
Welcome Flwolf!!!! Great shot!!! I have the same camera and the D90. Still discovering in both cameras!!!!
Welcome Flwolf!! I also have that camera, along with a D60. I keep forgetting that it takes video. You have a nice voice....especially liked your "Puppet on a string" video.
What is going on in the photo? Welcome to UHH.

 Welcome - crop in camera or post processing to subject
I have the same camera too. Its learning curve is pretty steep for me but I'm determined. I found a site that sells printed manuals that was well worth the time, paper and ink it saved me. It is from
www.ManualsInk.com
Welcome,Keep the pictures coming.
[quote=flwolf]Welcome to the HOG flwolf. I live across the swamp from you. David
Thanks for the nice words and the welcome!
It's one of these dredging machines off the beach. A man is leisurely sitting in his chair, seemingly dozed off while the machine is doing the heavy work. I named the picture sarcastically "Another day at the Office".
