I have a Sony A-6000 camera with aSony 16-50mm kit lens and a Sony 55-210 mm kit lens.
What lens do any of you use as an "all around lens" in place of the 16-50mm kit lens?
I hope to shoot pictures of wildlife, landscapes and pictures of the grand kids.
What lenses do you like ?
Thank you.

Sony 18-105 F 4 constant aperture

I've been using the Hasselblad 18-200 e mount. Right now, they are discounted on B&H for $500. Same lens as a Sony 18-200 at $848.

I have to agree with PhotoBobII - the Sony f4 18-105G lens is great. I also have a Sigma f2.8 30mm Art lens for when I don't need the zoom or when I want a more compact lens.

IF you have motion tremors in your hands or perhaps in part of the remainder of either upper extremity, remember that the Sony a6000 does not have any inherent Image Stabilization built in. So unless you plan to purchase another E-mt camera that does have IS built in, you might want to consider purchasing ONLY LENSES that have OSS built in.
Thank you for your good advice.

~ the FE 28-70mm full frame kit lens (I think it's underrated) and you should be able to get a "used" one for under $250

The Zeiss 24mm f/1.8 (SEL24F18Z) was my first lavish mirrorless lens purchase, and I don't regret it, but I'm on a fixed income and I think I'd take a hard look at the FE 28mm F2, were I to do that again. Have to say, it does surprise the uninitiated with it's ability to "shoot in the dark".
Curious about the 50mm prime (75mm equiv) for "the street", so yesterday a "used" one fell into my hands (SEL50F18) at a very nominal price. I've only made a couple dozen exposures, so far, but My! this lens is going to teach me a lot!

As I wait for Sony to add more lenses to their eco-system, I cheat and use the 55-210 on camera and have at the ready my iPhone 6 for those few wide angle shots. 8 MB Jpeg is not bad, and since 95% of photos are shared online, image quality is more than fine after PP in Lightroom. If pushed, I recommend a range of 18-270 that I have and used for years on my older Nikon D5100. The 18-270 is a Tamron. Not sure if Tamron or Sigma currently have a tele with that range.

I have the 19mm Sigma on my 6000. It is compact and takes great pics.

I am looking for a lense in the 18-200mm range. How is the IQ of the Hasselblad? Right now, I cannot afford the $848 for the Sony.

For portraits, consider an alternative to the traditional 85 mm. I bought the E-mt version of the LENSBABY Composer Pro with the Sweet 50 mm Optic. I'm still learning how to use it, but I've gotten some interesting pics of people with it!
In lieu of the 16-50 mm kit lens, I bought the Sony 35 mm f/1.8 OSS lens and haven't regretted it.

Here is my observation: At f8 it is sharp through all ranges except 200mm...Slightly softer at corners. This really is essentially the same lens as the Sony 18-200. A little softer when wide open. Overall, an excellent all around lens. Hasselblad had this lens priced at over $2400!?!. This lens which once was the worst value for the money has suddenly become one of the best values at $500. It will stay on my A6000.
