I know that " gravy " is a regional thing in NY / NJ and " pasta " was a actually introduced by yuppies in around 1985 . Until then it was either , " What are we having tonight , macaroni or spaghetti ? " . lol
Italian here too , grew up in one of the Italian sections of Newark . Great days they were , yep , the good old days .
