Have noticed a sudden across-the-board (all vendors) price drop of about 10% for the Sony HX90V compact camera that I am interested in. Is this due to a manufacture's price drop, a seasonal thing, or is there a new model/version coming out?

Don't worry, be happy. Now you can buy that camera you've been thinking about for 10% less. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth (or a camera in its bottom plate). Good luck with your latest acquisition.
