Is that really chocolate soap ? Never heard of that .. it would drive the heathens crazy LOL ... Love all the photos ... How is the knee ? Does it bother you when the weather changes ? Sure is good to see you posting again we love you and your photos :) ... pg 4
p6 Thanks PG Yes, it is chocolate soap, made with cocoa or something. My sister got it for me. It smelled more chocolatey when she first gave it to me. Sure feels nice and smooth. My knee is making fast progress, for which I am very thankful. Finally feel some energy this week and drove today for the first time. Thanks for the kind words. I have kept up as best I can and I so appreciate the UHH family - especially those on the daily challenge threads. I am looking forward to some new challenges coming in May. Prom - HMMMMM . Thanks for the warning as I really have to think long and hard about that one.

p8 Think the "firm Peeps" are a special club. He pokes a hole in the box and waits till they are good and hard. Now he is passing this tradition to the eldest grandson!

Well... So I sharing some archived "close-ups".....(would you believe is was 94 two days ago and right now my hubby just turned the heater on!!) What's happening?

p8 Those are pretty close up, Teri O. I don't have a true macro lens either, but like anything, just keep at it and I have NO doubt you will get it! And be great at it too.

Georgiann, Im glad you found your marbles, I like them! Is that a window I see reflected in the third one?
I love playing with marbles reminds me that I havent lost all of mine yet. For this shot, I turned on several room lights and got as close as possible to the vase of marbles with my kit lens (Nikon D5100), then enlarged a snippet. To those of you who may have lost their marbles, the full-sized original shot is second feel free to play with it. I'm still too clumsy with Elements 10 to do much myself -- I'd like to see what you can do
f11, 1/50th sec, ISO 500, flash.

That's too funny.. since they come in double rows boxed, I usually eat a couple nice and fresh then let the rest sit until you really have to "bite" them.... Hubby and daughter always react with ew

A very special close-up
George Albert Youngs' Civil War Discharge in 1865...the original. It is framed and hangs on my wall here over my computer
p6 That's a cool piece of history. Where did he serve?
Well while in Madison, WI I stopped by the Civil War Library which is awesome and found all the skirmishes that his company took part in. Now that does not mean that hewas present in all of them but the company was in 23 skirmishes over a four year period. He started in Missouri and ended up in Georgia. I am intersted in history and do not take sides so my digs include both.

Fabulous photos Nan .. especially the first one ..
I noticed that report issue button today too .. it just showed up .. threw me for a loop ... it's where the reply button used to be so I nearly reported several people here this morning LOL ... I asked about it out in chit chat .. pg 9
I have a totally off subject question for y'all. I know that most of us don't do portraits.... but we do have common sense. I was out scoping locations for the photo shoot I have to do next month and I think I pretty much decided on Agua Caliente Park because it's a great park and there are lots of beautiful natural backgrounds available. These are some of the spots I was thinking about. My question is about the natural lighting ... Do you think it's worth it to buy a reflector to light these spots up a bit more without using a flash ?
