The faster the better. I use the Sandisk Extreme Pro in both my D7200 and SX-50. High speed cards really make a difference in continuous shooting situations. I rarely fill the buffer anymore. Good luck.

Australis,

You are almost the most southern of any person from whom I ever received a message. I once sent an email to one of the remote, buried-in-the-snow camps in Antarctica and got a reply. He was there for another 6 months because the last plane had just departed for the winter.

Thank you for the reply. The info I found on the internet was a bit lacking.

Mr PC,

Thanks for the reply. I had found the Sandisk Extreme Pro on the internet and was leaning toward it. I will look at Australis' card before I order since I do not know the difference between the two.

I am waiting for FedEx to deliver my refurbished sx50 HS. I am like a kid that can see his bike under the tree but cannot ride it until Christmas morning.

I bought a refurbished SX50 HS several months ago and have been very pleased with its performance. Focuses fast and the image quality is quite nice. You will enjoy yours.

Recommend a SanDisk Extreme or Extreme Pro.

I use smaller cards in that camera. SX50 files are not that large, even in raw. I just feel more comfortable not having so many shots on a card.

Thank you rjaywallace,

There are so many cameras out there. I drooled over the a7R II and the 5D mark III. But at my present budget, I might as well look at pictures of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 while I am fantasizing.

Right now, I am pleased that my sx50 HS comes with a battery, charger and a 4 GB memory card.

Geeze Linda,

Yakima is a long walk from Maine.

I agree with your comment. But I wanted a larger card in case I got shutter button happy.

Another thought - Have you ever filled the buffer on your camera? If your shooting does not include bursts of shots then the high speed is not needed. If that is the case lower speed lower cost cards will work fine. - Dave

Shoot!

wilsondl2, I do not even have it in my hot little hands yet. I am sleeping with my ear on the front door so I do not miss the FedEx knock.

Thank you joe west,

If I find myself bumping the end of 32 GB regularly, I will jump to 64 GB. But just starting out, I think maybe 32 GB will do. I'll see soon enough.

I use 64gb and 32gb in the 5d mk3 and use the 32gb first but have never filled it.
