Took the plunge...just bought an enlarger.
Congratulations!!! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

My high school had a Besseler, it worked well. Time to get a paper easel, trays, thermometer, timer, tongs.... it never ends! Enjoy!
Great fun -- developing film, even slides -- great, but watching a print come up under the safelight -- that was always the best. Congrats!
Beseler is a very good brand Robert, the worst that can happen is that it needs a new lamp, good buy.

There was something special about the anticipation and waiting and then seeing your image come to life!
I scored a good buy too last year. A guy was moving and he advertised it on craigslist plus it sais "many extras included" I was ready to upgrade from an old omega enlarger to this Beseler dichro 23dga for $100.00 He threw in everything he had including 3 enlarging lenses Nikkor and beselers all in mint condition all with manuals and books on developing. Once in awhile I manage to score a deal. I still find it fun to play in the darkroom and it never ceases to amaze me of how much stuff you can aquire.... Have fun
I fear you have been bitten, and there is no known cure. You will feel ok for a while but then you'll notice this undeniable desire to be in the dark for long peroids of time. You will also find yourself saying"I think I can do better than that"--allot. Playing with a digital camera will cause sympoms to subside but only for a short time. My only positive effect from this was my wife refused to talk to me when I was in the dark and suffering from symptoms. Good luck and try to make the best of it. Just remember your not alone in this. Oh ---please do warn others if they ask to help you with your disease because it is highly contagious.

Good for you, I've got an entire darkroom w/Besseller enlarger for up to 16x20 prints sitting under a cover....no place to set it up anymore! Sad, lucky you! Enjoy yours!! :|
Just like my first inlarger
I still have a Bessler enlarger, with a tri-color head, (philips)
that goes to 4 X 5. I also have a Chromega 4X5, sadly I no
longer have a darkroom, but it was fun, I think you got a good deal.
Lucky you. Which i had the space. ENJOY. By the way , keep buying film ,don't let it get away.
If you look around you can get this stuff for all most nothing, i pick up beslser 23c for 40.00 with a color head and color analyzer bessler 67 with 2 heads 1 color and one BW for free and a omega 22 for 10.00 They all had lens and neg holders. Allso got 5- 16x20, 5- 11x14 ,5- 8x10 + 2 print drying racks that holds 16x20 prints for 15.00. All this stuff i found on craigs list .ebay is to high for this kind stuff.

I hate when they use words like "vintage" for things that I remember seeing and thinking how fancy and new they were.
Gawd, does that make me feel old.
I've been toying around with getting a small unit like that, just been wanting to play around with caffeinol, but hate getting out my 4x5 enlarger, and making all that room for something I may, or may not continue doing.
