Anyone upgraded to the latest Mac OSX - searching the internet indicates there have been some problems - should I wait for the first update to deal with any bugs etc;

I suggest that you visit the contemporaneous discussion under the Topic: Adobe Lightroom CC Update. More or less, its first 7 pages are pertinent to the Topic title while the discussion on page 8 has digressed into the use of GPS.

FWIW - I upgraded days after it became available - I run an IMAC, 16 GB ram and several external disk drives - USB 2.0, Thunderbolt & Firewire.
I make use of Lightroom & Photoshop most every day as well as Safari & Apple Mail, Evernote and several other packages.

So far, the only issue was I needed to reinstall my Topaz Plugins, which was a free and simple process.

Edit: I noticed right away that things just seemed to run a tad faster & smoother - maybe it was wishful thinking - but I have no complaints so far.

the problems are small, i find.except for the fact that my neat brand document scanner will not work with El Capitan..and a few other small problems, but I"ve been assured that the people at neat are working on a fix for this problem....otherwise its really very nice to use...

My experience has been "don't do it" I wish I hadn't. My email is screwed and Ebay checkout and lots of web pages timing out and reverting to dns errors. Wait for 10.11.1 I wish I had but I read all the POSITIVE reviews on Apple's web site instead of truly independant reviews.

Thanks for the info - I have never had any problems with any MAC OSX updates before but an internet search made me nervous when I seen reference to various problems. I am reassured by your experience and will give it a go - I did hear about having to reinstall Topaz Plugins but as you say this is no big problem.

No problem except for Topaz PS Plug-Ins. Otherwise OK.

I'm running a MacBook Pro, 16G, I'm using OS X El Capitan. The only issue I had was Adobe's troubled update, they have since corrected Adobe CC.

BTW, I like the split screen.

I've been using it from the beginning, and I have no problems. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. :D

I have a few legacy programs that keep me from updating to El Capitan such as Capture NX-2 and Photoshop CS6 (not CC). If I knew that they would work under El Capitan I would upgrade.

You might want to check the status of your apps here for compatibility.

I think I saw that CS6 is green lighted.

BTW - BLUE just means there is no data on the application at this time.

FWIW:

I make sure that I have backups before upgrading, but have never needed them so far.

Of course contacts and groups are also maintained by syncing with my Gmail account.

Thank you, I just checked and Nikon Capture NX-2 is not compatible.
