I have a D3300 and just curious as to why you upgraded. Did you keep the D3300? I am wanting to upgrade but really don't have a reason for it other than I want to get a 2nd DSLR. Your photos of the cars are great.
It certainly wasn't because I was disappointed with the D3300. That camera actually shares some things with the D7200. Same processor, same megapixel count, neither have a low-pass filter. I've taken some excellent photos with the D3300, and would recommend it to anyone.
It's really a matter of wanting to do some different things with my photography. HDR, for example, is much easier to do with the D7200. It also has some other capabilities such as high speed sync, and other settings that will allow me to expand my photography.
My D3300 is going to my 15 year old granddaughter who seems to have inherited my love for photography. It will serve her very well!
Hi Brayyd, I'm green - (with envy) here - in the nicest sense of the term, as regards your new D7200. I have a D7100 but definitely cannot afford to upgrade any time soon.
Excellent shots; - What lens did you have attached?
With regard to hi speed Folash Sync: If you're using a shoe-mounted Flash then the flashgun also needs to support/be capable of hi speed flash sync. I haven't tried it out with my D7100 yet as I don't yet have a capable Flash. . . thinking of purchasing the Nissin i40 Flash Unit - soon.
Happy shooting!

There's nothing wrong with a d3300 if it's just good photos your after . The only reason to up grade is not as important as you think . You get faster focusing . More frames per sec. . More useable and higher iso . A better sealed titanium body . But most people who up grade are finding there getting
The same quality pic as there last DX camera . I think the chase and getting
Something new is more important for the mind than a new toy . It's like a kid at Christmas time . It's good for the ego And it will happen again and again
It's addicting .
FYI..Try out a Yongnuo 568EX for Nikon..I bought it a B&H for around $104..It's as least as powerful as my SB800, and has most of the same features.. I used it remotely along with my SB800 using high speed synch shooting hummingbirds this summer..Works like
a charm!

It's called G.A.S. I always have had a bad case of it even in film days.

I would certainly agree as far as quality of photos go. I don't think there is any difference in quality between the D3300 and the D7200. As I noted before they share some of the same technology. But for the kind of photography I want to do, the D7200 does offer some advantages for me. I would have been happy with the D7100, but since I had the money, I went for the D7200. It's really as simple as that. But I tell people all the time that the D3300 is a better camera than most folks think, and unless you need the abilities offered by an upgrade, you have a terrific camera already. GAS is only good when you can afford it! I sprang for while I could.

Finally got to shoot pics with my new Nikon D7200 last week. Lots of stuff to learn over my old D3300! Here's a pic I got with it. Does anyone know of a good tutorial online that shows how to use the D7200 with high speed sync?
I just picked one up last week. I upgraded from a D90. I really wasn't going to buy one till I shot a few pics with one. I was hooked. I put my Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD on it and what a difference. I took some action shots and the buffer in .jpg is really pretty good. I put the fastest cards I could find in it. I do really like the camera. I love my D90 and will still use it but the D7200 really is a nice camera. Congrats on your purchase!

I had my D80 converted to IR when I upgraded. If you have any interest at all in IR photography, you might give lifepixel.com a call and consider having your D90 converted. Enjoy your D7200.
