Spec wise yes. I just went and customized the Pro 4 and it was $2699! Way too much. Dumbing the specs down eliminates the "replace the laptop" angle.

I saw that myself but that was with a 1Tb SSD. I push everything into the cloud so I never need more than 256Gb on my portable devices. That brings the price down considerably.

you can buy the surface pro 3.
I have it and it lets you run full windows with no trouble.
plus it works as a digitalizer (aka drawing/editing tablet)
