I still have one in my display case with other "antiques". The C3 was my first camera. I loved it!
Made right here in Ann Arbor, MI. The factory building still exists and is now used by UMichigan.

I'm surprised you don't have one let alone not being able to identify it! I thought all photographers over 45 owned at least one of these. I have a couple thrown around somewhere. They used to frequently be seen in yard sales for 5.00. They were so common, I think they must have been given out for Green Stamps at one time.
Argus C3, The Brick, It's a very accurate rangefinder focus, and I have take some great pictures with Argus camera's. Very good lens.
The history is interesting. The fellow who designed the Argus also sold radios and signal devices to the military on govt contracts.
He designed the first Argus to vaguely resemble the Leica Barnack. The first Leica by Oskar Barnack.
Old Argus camera's are a dime a dozen on eBay and commendable picture takers, with an accurate rangefinder focus. I used an Argus C4 for some time.

It was my second camera after the Argus 21. At last -- a rangefinder!!! :-)

Yep, Argus C3, my first 35mm camera. See my Avatar, it was from the early '60's.
My gosh!! I started out with a Kodak Pony, having chosen it over a C-3 because of the price. I was in sixth grade and spending my own money, so I bought the Kodak. I wish now I had purchased the C-3.
