I'm not sure how this read.
I'm not even close to where you are with single stacking.

Thank you very much Jim, I need to get in the state of mind to do multiple image stacking.

Hi Craig... Been doing well enough, just haven't gotten any good photos lately. Maybe I'll get something worth posting during the upcoming eclipse. Your pictures are coming right along, though! Keep up the good work!

DL, thank you very much and hope to see some more of your work soon.

Craig, that is an amazing shot! I'll add that to my photo bucket list. I have so much to learn from all of you here!

Thanks again, Andromeda is always a fun one and easy to shoot.
So is the Orion Nebula.

I can shoot the Orion Nebula till the cows come home and do reasonably well without stacking. I cannot get a decent shot of andromeda from albuquerque.
When I figure it out I'll let you know.
;)
If you are subject to a large amount of light pollution you can try a UHC filter or light pollution filter which will greatly increase your exposure time, but also give you and increased signal to noise ratio before the light pollution has the ability to brighten your surrounding sky. If using a monochromatic cooled CCD narrow band is also an option, although an expensive one.
