Yes I certainly do remember them.. We were on a party line with a farm that had several hired men. We were all on the same line and every morning about 4:30 a.m. the farmer would ring that phone with great gusto to be sure they were awake for the morning milking. More than once we who didn't work for him greeted that ringing with less than complimentary remarks.

fond memories of yesterday ? memories the young of today won't have ?? visit from ur grandchildren is them sat tapping or talking on their mobiles no chat no what did u used to do etc ? I wouldn't like to start again in the world of today

I remember them all very well. I also remember five digit phone numbers and having to dial "0" to call long distance.
