Op/Tech is a great way to go. I really like their "lens loop" attachment for larger lenses. Instead of supporting the camera just by the strap lugs, it supports right where the lens meets the body.

The only drawback to this system, as opposed to BlackRapid, and other tripod mount attachment systems, is that you almost always have to move the straps out of the way to view the screen and/or viewfinder, but this is a minor inconvenience.

Totally modular system, very inexpensive, and well made

I like the quick disconnect capability of the Op/Tech straps. I can get the strap off the camera quickly when I don't want it. I never leave a strap on a camera when it's on a tripod.

Even if you are using a neck strap, if you have a heavy lens attached it "hangs down-lens first".

I guess I'm alone on this, but I take pains to make sure that my camera hangs 'lens down', why? because I don't want to scratch my cameras' screen on my belt buckle or anything else and I find that the camera doesn't bounce off of my body as much when it's lens down. I use an OP/TEC strap and still rig it lens down.

I also have an OP Tech sling strap. I like it because it attaches to the top camera strap lugs instead of the tripod mount. I have more expensive tripod mount straps, but don't really like or trust using the tripod mounts.

https://peakdesign.com/store/?c=straps You need a strap that connects to the side lugs but with a heavy lens it is going to point down from the weight like some one else has already suggested.

There's an optech strap and there is an optech sling strap.
With the sling the camera hangs with the lens down, a bit to the side and pointing behind you at your hip. Nothing to scratch screen, camera body or lens.

I had a front strap that held the camera in place but it still pulled in the front and was uncomfortable. I now use a Black Rapids Side sling strap and am able to carry around even a heavy Nikon 70-200 2.8 lens with no problem.

I have been carrying a camera on me for over 60 years and to be honest I hate having it on my chest and bouncing around. I prefer having it on a sling with the lens pointing down so it reduces the chance of it sticking out to far and hitting things. The key is getting the strap on the camera in a way that you can grab the camera quickly with your dominant hand in a shooting mode without the strap getting in the way. I get this done with the "Slide" by Peak Design strap. What I really like is their quick release tabs and the fact that the tripod plate that comes with the strap fits my tripod ball head perfectly so I never have to change it out or take the strap quick releases off the camera to use my tripod.

As others say, depends on your preferences/needs.
I use and recommend OP/TECH *elastic* sling (goes on like a T-shirt, camera is on your chest). Easy hiking for hours with 55-300mm Nikkor zoom, camera at "high-or-low ready"- depending on how you adjust straps. Much better than "single straps" for my needs/use.
