Hi all! I really dislike my strap..the camera hangs down-lens first. I know I have read about a strap that you can get that holds the camera "in place"..ideas appreciated

I really like the "Slide" by Peak Design, but I like it precisely because the camera hangs lens down. Go figure...

Op Tech USA sling strap. I have one on each camera and love them.

I've used Upstrap products for years. They are a great company. Write me a PM if you want details. The products are well made, components are made in the U.S. and reasonably priced.

I also have an OP Tech sling strap. I like it because it attaches to the top camera strap lugs instead of the tripod mount. I have more expensive tripod mount straps, but don't really like or trust using the tripod mounts.

You actually don't say what kind of camera you are using or what kind of strap and how its attached. Even if you are using a neck strap, if you have a heavy lens attached it "hangs down-lens first". We really need more feedback before we can make any meaningful suggestions.

You need a strap that connects to the lugs at the top corners of the camera body. Even so, if you have a heavy lens on the camera, it will hang down. I don't know what you mean by "in place".

i prefer a strap that connects to the tripod socket. I have taken the top plate off many cameras and was always amazed by how small the stud that they used for the lugs. i use the Custom slr straps. i like the fact that you can set it and forget it. http://www.customslr.com/collections/full-catalog

Everyone seems to be forgetting that the OP isn't asking about straps in general. He is asking for a strap that will prevent the attached lens from pointing down while he carries it. We need more feedback from him on the "issue" he's having

Perhaps something like this

But, you will need this to go with it

Even though I feel this would put undue stress on the lens and mount if you had a heavy lens on your camera, not to mention feeling somewhat awkward. Most straps, slings, harnesses, etc. have the camera in the lens down position for a reason.....or two

I've tried some that are always recommended here, and I settled on OP/TECH. They make excellent quality products, a good variety, and they all snap together - mix and match. I use their regular strap (I forget the exact name) for my cameras, with different colored top pieces so I can tell the cameras apart easily. When I carry two cameras, I use their Double Sling.

I like the looks of the REporter strap. Mine are similar to that.
