Mine was a Kodak. I think the model was 720IS or something like that. I bought it at Staples because I was going to Israel and knew there was no way I could carry enough film. The camera was on sale, and I had LOTS of rewards coupons. It was a 7.2 MP and gave me really good images. It was stolen in my burglary or I would probably still be using it.

My first digital was a Canon A9t as well. It was followed by the 'S I and then the Mark VI which I am currently enjoying. I do plan to buy a backup camera next year. I also hope to buy a new lens as well.

I still have this one and it works. It has a focal range down to 3":

The Photosmart HP Digital Camera (part no. C5340A) was the first Hewlett-Packard consumer digital camera, introduced in 1997[1]. Being the first camera, it seems to have no name or number (except for the part number) other than the name of the system. It was manufactured in Japan. It was part of the PhotoSmart system, which also had a print and negative scanner and a photo printer - and associate image handling software. Images could be uploaded to a computer using a serial interface cable. There is a sliding cover on the left-hand end, revealing the mini-DIN socket for the serial cable and external power socket. The back has an LCD panel for settings and frame number display, and buttons to control flash mode, picture quality (compression level), deletion and self-timer. The top is plain except for the power switch and shutter-release. There is no way to view pictures on-camera - they must be uploaded to a computer.
The camera has a 640x480 pixel (VGA) resolution, and came with a 2Mb memory card capable of storing 32 "normal" images - with ~20:1 compression, but only 16 in "fine" mode and only 4 in "superfine" mode (~2.5:1 compression). A 4Mb card was an option. It has a fixed f2.8 lens with autofocus, marked as having 37mm filter threads, but not with its focal length.
Power came from 4 AA batteries, or an external 6v power supply.

Olympus Camedia 2100, circa 1999. 2.1 MEGA Pixels, 10x Zoom. Still have it, stays in the truck most of the time, still shoots good as the day I bought it.

Some pics taken with it, late last year

Olympus was the first digital SLR for me in 1998, a D-400 at a whopping 1.3 MP, used it in our business for catalog product photos, the next camera was acquired around 2000, the C-2500, wow what an increase at 2.5 MP, then an E-10 at 4 MP around 2003, another E-10 in 2005 and the E-20 in 2006. When it came time for a changeable lens system I dropped Olympus as there were few lens available and the ones that were had prices way out of budget for us. I did have some add-on lens for the E-10 and E-20 but the only sharp one was the wide angle, the tele attachments were very soft. I keep an old Stylus 710 in my pocket when biking, Oly's are great cameras, but had to go with Canon in 2012 for price and available lens selections.

Canon Power Shot A95. This was revolutionary, compared to my film cameras. Not yet sold on the concept.

Sony Mavica, 1999 got it for $99.00!!!

Piece of junk, ended up as a gift to a niece who needed something 'digital'. Not sure where this one ended its life.

The next one was a Fuji Pro S2 (2004). Ended-up gifted three times!!!
1) 'Too heavy' - Gave it back
2) 'Does not work!!!' - Gave it back - The 123 battery gave up the ghost
3) Gave it to a hunter last year. Now he wants a better camera! (Will I see it again?)

Had the S2, two S3, and four S5 pros. Excellent image makers, great whites and portraits. Still have about 6 123 batteries for the S2.

Sold one S5 with 254,000 clicks, and the owner is still using it.

The SxPros were built on Nikon bodies and the S5 was the Nikon D200 body.

No heavier than the D200 and other crop format camera's of the time, since they were Nikon bodies.

Fuji sensors did not require AA filtering and were sharper than most counterparts in DSLR.

Many made their fame in wedding and portrait studio work. All used Nikon lens mount, since Nikon bodies. A good used S5 Pro is still a viable camera.

They lacked a market because of their unique sensor and the 6/12 Mp method of pixel count. I loved them however.

Fujifilm was not a household name, but look at them now.
