I have a Canon 6d with lens and have an opportunity to buy a 5D Mark ll body only for $925. I am a novice learning for my retirement hobby. Is this a good deal and something I should invest in? If so, is this price good. Would love opinions. Thanks.

Good question, I will ask. My 6 D came with it, if the 5D does not, would you pass on it?

YES!!!! I have read that Canon is going to start doing Like Nikon(my camera) and not honor out of U.S.A. warranties.

I'd be a bit wary. The body sells for $2500 new. Even refurbished ones are $2000. Its hard to believe someone would be selling the complete package in mint working order for such a low price. You have to assume the camera is used, even if its only so. For that little money I wouldn't worry about a Warranty unless it's not in good working order when you get it.
Given the low price, might it be stolen?
KEH currently has that body on sale for $919 without charger, $999 with charger, both rated as bargain. On their rating scale, bargain would be 70 - 79% of new. Meaning it shows a lot of wear. If you go on eBay you will see that body used with the charger for anything between $600 and $1200. Your $925 price could be very good depending on the condition of the camera, or just an average price if the condition is average or below. Unless you know the condition is really exceptional it's hard to say that $925 is a really great price.
For sake of comparison, KEH has that body rated Excellent for $1219. KEH seems to rate equipment conservatively. An excellent rating from them is usually a camera in exceptional condition.
Are you looking for a back up to your 6D? My experience with back up cameras is to get the same model if making a purchase. With the same model you end up using both bodies interchangeably rather than the inferior (older) body just sitting around waiting for an emergency or eventually just being sold ...
Are you looking for another camera, if so, why? Or, should you be looking at lenses?

Are you sure you're not talking about the Mark III? The Mark II is what OP is posting about and they can be found on Ebay (used) for well under $1000.

Good question CHG CANON. I am a a little impulsive for a bargain and this buy may very well be that. I recently bought a 50mm 1.4 and looking in the near future for a 70-200. With all this being said, I am also so very green on how to use the one I have now! Am I biting off more than I can chew because of the price??

I'd say you probably don't yet need two cameras. The 5DII is still a widely used camera, but it was surpassed by a superior 5DIII and some say both were passed in image quality by the 6D. Your money would be better spent on the 70-200 which has a hefty purchase price of its own.

Thanks CHG CANON, I will be passing on the 5d. Suggestions on which of the 70-200 you would advise I look at?

Karyn - If you're looking for a lens for indoors like grandkid's sports, concerts, etc, you'll be looking for an f/2.8 such as the Tamron 70-200 VC or the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II USM. If you don't have this specialized need, the IS and non IS f/4 versions from Canon will save you size (weight) and money for lenses almost identical in performance to the top line f/2.8 IS II Canon model.
I suggest the lens reviews at
http://www.the-digital-picture.com for more information on anything Canon or used with Canon.

Thanks for the info, great link CNG CANON. With all the information I got a lot of learning to do. 😊
$900-$1000 is the going price for this camera. Amazon has this as a used item purchase, and it lists for just under $1000. I have one, and was planning on selling on Amazon, with the same price. No, it does not come with a warranty card, none of them do, unless you buy it as a new item, which makes no sense. The warranties have long expired.
