Be still my heart,1600 of the most beautiful sounding horse power to ever grace a plane! Merlin's magic for sure. I checked to see if I could spot the rivets, and I could, outstanding "in flight" shots, and you just made my day. Thanks my friend, take care! By the way Rob, what shutter speed were you using? Looks like maybe 1/800 or faster?

Phil

Beautiful images Rob, that is one fine looking fighter. I love it has the D-Day striping on it.

You have that right, and you're quite welcome. I think the three best WWII Allied fighters were, in no particular order, the P-51 Mustang, the Supermarine Spitfire and the F4-U Corsair.

Thank you very much, my friend; I always look forward to hearing from you. Yes, when they placed the Rolls Royce Merlin engine into that plane, it became the definitive air superiority fighter of WWII. As I said in another reply, I believe the three best WWII Allied fighters to be, in no particular order, the P-51 Mustang, the Supermarine Spitfire and the F4-U Corsair. The specs are attached.
