I see where a lot of you folks have purchased from KEH and give them high marks. I am considering selling them a Canon L lens that is only a few months old. I did get a quote from them. My question, how different is the final price paid then the quote was? Thanks for your time.

I've done this many times over the years. Their quotes have been the same as the payout in every case.
It probably depends on how you grade them when requesting a quote.
Curious ...... what lens are you selling?

I sold three lenses to KEH and they were almost brand new. Maybe used once each. They downgraded my rating and they paid me about one third of what they later sold them for. No complaints, as I know they have to make a profit. If i have lenses to sell in the future I believe I will skip KEH and try to sell them here, Amazon, or eBay.

I have sold a T3i & 2 lenses, a 70D body, plus another 2 or 3 lenses here on the Hog. Never had a problem. Each time the buyer was a well established member and I just told them to send a check when they got the item. Always got my money and it was more then B&H or KEH would have given me.
I've sold 3 cameras and 7 lens at Amazon.com. In each case, I established my own price. Amazon takes a cut but it's not terribly bad, and it has a worldwide readership. In every case, my item sold in less than 2 weeks.

Its a 24-70 F4/L lens. I tried to sell here it here, but no response. I also tried Craigslist. I looked at Amazon, but they didn't offer as much as KEH. Well, its shipped. We'll see how I did.
It depends on how they rate the condition of the lens. They rate very conservatively which is good when you buy from them but sometimes bad when you sell to them. They also have to warranty the lens and still make a profit on it.

I think they stick to their estimate.
But you'll do much better selling here or on eBay. They sell for over twice what they pay you.

I agree. You always do better dealing with a buyer rather than a middleman. KEH is very reputable and you could easily back out if they don't honor their quote and try again here as well as eBay and others... ;)

I listed it on here, but no one replied. Even if the price was too high, no one even made an offer.

Try again. That's a great lens and your price will be a bargain. Check eBay and KEH to price it. Be sure to get your title right: include the camera mfg. and full lens designation.
I have bought and sold cameras and lenses on UHH with full satisfaction of all concerned.
Interesting you should ask. I just used them. I live in the Atlanta area and I've wanted to visit their store but haven't yet. So I had an old Canon AE1 film camera, which I didn't expect to get much for and three lenses. Two of the lenses were in fine shape. So I submitted my quote, packaged it all up, and then waited and waited and waited. Finally got a response of less than half than what the original quote. I took it since I don't use the film stuff anymore.
But, in the future I could do better, just keeping the stuff. {ut
It's a bit tricky figuring a price but somewhere between KEH offer and what the lens sold for on previous ebay listings. Sounds like an idea.
