I've trying my hand out in a new realm for me-called nature and wildlife photography. Here in central FL, we have the Merritt Island Wildlife refuge, which is part of the Cape Kennedy launch complex. These pix were "long distance close-ups".
Fantastic pics! Uncommon subject, at least for UHH :) I really like these.
Welcome to closeup, Travis! These are some of my favorite funny critters. I love the way their eyes glow when they run along the beach at night. Super shots!!
I appreciate the kind comments. I primarily shoot trains-RR photography-and decided to try something different. The refuge has a plethora of subject matter, the fiddlers being just a small segment. They are fun to watch, and can be challenging to photograph. Each colony seems to have it's own personality. I call these "long distance close-ups" since they were shot with a 400mm and 1.4 teleconverter
