Definitely number 1
Number three gets my personal  as "tildeography" ... but it's a bit schizophrenic to pass as leading lines (I would think).
I'm no expert though... just a girl who loves unusual perspectives

I was taught many years ago that you view a photograph the same way you read a book, from left to right. Try flipping the image (#1) so the lines take your eyes left to right. Just adding my 2 cents. I'm sure you will win with what ever image you enter. Best of luck.
We must have had the same teacher, I was told the same and I think it applies, makes me wonder about the Chinese? LOL.
Or the Japanese, right to left, top to bottom. I should know. I'm half Japanese half Irish. Guess that makes me a shamrock samurai. I'm domesticated though, born in America, only know a few words in Japanese, don't drink like an Irish man.
I like the first one because it made me wonder the most :-)

I like #3 But #1 will win you the prize.
I want to thank everyone for their help and advice - it certainly has been appreciated. The competition is on April 24th - I'll keep you posted.
One funny thing, on my first photo, if you rotate it to the right, it looks like stairs going up to another floor. Just thought I'd mention it. Thanks again!
#1, being great on composition exposure and DOF, is the winner, and there does appear to be excessive grainines, but almost being a monochrome, that actually complements the effect. The last two are also great in mamy respects, but are somewhat "busy" in comparison with #1.
Would I be wrong in thinking perhaps the second two seem to be a bit "busy" for a competition
