This seems a friendly place.
I have been dev and printing B&W for 40 years until 6 years ago when I went digital. I fret about those lovely film cameras (Olympus OM-1, Leica CL, Canon E30 with eye controlled focus selection) not being used and am still considering shooting on film and scanning the neg. I do this at the moment with my old negs and some come out quite well. I will post some when I figure out how to.
Having said that I have just bought a Fujifilm X100 that is taking some getting used to but I hope it will recharge my batteries.
Looking forward to getting to know you.

Welcome to the forum, Kev (grainy or not :) )

Both film and digital have their advantages. I'm doing almost all digital now - the instant feedback is addicting and allows for a faster learning curve.

Thanks rfbccb, I'm very new to this forum lark. I'm slightly unsure about the etiquette regarding older posts and if you can add to a 4 month old thread or not.
I looked at your page - loved the 'best bird photo', it had me going.
I too have had many cameras - Zenith, Olympus OM, Pentacon, Rollei, Leica, Bronica, Canon. Unfortunately I always had to sell in order to fund the next purchase - except for my OM-1 and Leica CL as I couldn't sell them.

Hi Kev. Welcome to the HOG. If you want to add to a 4 month old thread, go ahead. Your answer will pop up in your email. Nothing wrong with that.
You will find this a great site. Lots of very helpful and patient folks.
