I have a Nikon AF-s Micro Nikkor 40mm 1:2.8G and I really like it, except when I am shooting wasps they are flighty, and so far NO sting, but that might change.
Then last week, I bought a 0.38 Super High definition Panoramic Fisheye Lens, and it had a Macro lens with it, and you attach it to another lens. I am not happy with this, as you have to get so close, and you have no control on blur.. NOT GOOD! It is VERY hard to focus. Any suggestions?
Get used to it, it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do.
Ditch the screw on aux lens. They are next to worthless. Sounds like you are in need of a longer focal length macro lens. A true macro lens like your 40mm (good for static subjects, not for mobile ones). Stay away from zooms which tout a "Macro" feature as well...
