Beautiful shots Pebbles. I lived in South County near Charlestowm for three years in the early eighties and I miss the beauty of the place. The Ocean State is one of the most beautiful and most ignored places on earth.

I was in the Navy also and ironically was stationed in Washington DC, lived in Lanham Md and spent time on Chesapeake bay. Loved them blue crabs.

It is a pretty state with plenty of history. Yesterday I sat on the same bench in Trinity Church where Washington and queen Victoria sat when they visited here. Not at the same time mind you. It was a mecca for religious tolerance in the early days. It was a stronghold for the British during the American revolution. It was the birthplace of the American Navy. It was a vacation spot for the super wealthy in the early 1900 and a playground for yachtsmen. It's my home.

I was in DC from 64-68 then to Newport. Worked for a VADM named Rickover.

Is that the same church where JFK and Jackie were married? I have a lot of great memories from my few years living in a place that was called Snug Harbor. I worked 2nd shift building Milstone III in Waterford, CT. I used to get up in the morning and walk down Succotash Rd to Jerusalem with my my daughters to watch the fishing boats come in.

No, the Kennedys were married at St.Mary's catholic church in Newport. Jackie's childhood home was on the famous 10mile drive at a place known as Hammersmith farm. This was also known as a summer whitehouse. There is a second summer whitehouse nearby at fort Adams where president Eisenhower spent his summers in the late 50s.

Long Island has its own charm. Places like Sag Harbor, the Hamptons, Montauk and of course all those wineries! We loved the Peruvian Fest also.
